If you look at the toy section of big department stores, you'll find so many new cheap rc helicopters. The best part is these "toy helis" can be bought for less than $50, complete with radio control, batteries, and charger.

The cheap rc helicopters found at department stores are usually made in China. Their design is simple, it uses a dual main rotor and a small tail rotor. Despite the cheap price, you can still hover, move forward, backwards, left and right.

Quality and technology used is not as good as hobby quality r/c models. However, if this is your first time, these can be good beginner rc helicopters that you can have fun with at a cheap price.

Also good is that these cheap toys are safe to use... the blades are relatively soft and will hardly cause bodily injury.

Are cheap toy helis worth buying? If your goal is to have simple fun, hovering inside the house, then for less than $50 these toys are worth it. And they really fly like a real helicopter. As you can see from the photo above, they can hover inside a garage.

Later on you can start buying the hobby quality r/c models that offer more realism and maneuverability. However, prepare to spend more... much more.

But for now, simply have fun and learn to fly rc helicopters with these cheap, toy models. And not only can you buy these at department stores, you can also easily buy from online rc shops...
